Coffee i-Pods Brewing Trouble for Traditional Single Cup Coffee Makers

By | April 1, 2015

Tim_Cook_2009_croppedIn a recent product announcement, Apple are reported to be working on a new lifestyle product: the coffee i-Pod. This is a small espresso type coffee maker that plugs directly into an iphone or ipad or Apple computer.

These new coffee i-pods are likely to start revolutionizing the coffee world by making Keurigs, Nespressos and Tassimo systems obsolete in one go.

The coffee i-pods are a unique system for making quality coffee in a mug. They resemble an over-sized coffee bean, with a modern plugin socket and iphone lightning connector on either end.

Simply pop open your pack of 6 i-pods and connect it to your phone. Then add hot water. By waiting two or three minutes, you’ll have that perfect cup of coffee ready in an iWatch minute.

Noted coffee vendors Starbucks have said that they are exploring developing coffees suited to this method of making coffee. Apple are also talking about integrating the technology in a future update of IOS 8, and building out a separate i-pod ecosystem is expected as well: with its own Java-based app store, a coffee monitoring device, and separate wearable technology (separately named the iStain).

No dates have been yet been given for the release of these products, but Tim Cook has been seeing brewing coffee with them at several recent Apple events.
