Coffee @ Hayashi Department Store

By | October 5, 2016

Our recent visit to Tainan City included a visit to one of the first department stores in Taiwan, opened in 1932. The Hayashi Department Store.

Of course, this is not a tourist blog, it’s a coffee blog. So here’s the coffee. No idea how their coffee tasted way back then… most likely it was roasted in Japan for export, and made by the siphon method which results in a great cup of coffee.

But my cappuccino was nicely done, good foam, Italian roasting, … would be drinking it again. A little pricy (NT$150).

Give it a try if you’re visiting Tainan City.
